Thank you for visiting Prairie Boutique. We are a family owned online boutique dedicated to you, the customer. Mel started Prairie Boutique in 2015 to provide clothing to women of all ages. She is dedicated to buying affordable, and high quality clothing that every woman will feel comfortable wearing!
We chose "Prairie Boutique" as a name because we live in South Dakota where the prairie is ever changing, beautiful, strong and resilient like the women we serve. We strive to provide high quality, affordable, and beautiful clothes with superior customer service.
Meet the owners!
Mel (Mother)
Melanie started Prairie Boutique to provide cute and affordable styles to women with a lifestyle like hers. She loves meeting new customers and making sure that all the women who order from Prairie Boutique love the clothing they receive! Melanie has worked as a nurse with cancer patients for 30 years and was recently recognized for her compassion for others by being awarded oncology nurse of the year by the JY6 Foundation!
Marissa (Daughter #1)
Marissa helps keep everything in order and organized. She is crucial in helping us prepare for and set up for shows! Marissa graduated from USD and currently teaches elementary special education in Sioux Falls! She loves helping pick out comfortable and stylish clothing for the boutique!
Shannon (Daughter #2)
Shannon runs all the social media and graphics and helps Melanie pick out styles for the boutique! She is currently a full time pharmacy student at SDSU and hopes to follow in her mom's footsteps and specialize in oncology someday. Shannon needs a multifunctional closet filled with clothing that she can wear on weekends when hanging out with friends and clothing she can wear professionally to work!
The Fam
We are a family of 6, with an agricultural background! We think this background has instilled in us hard work and dedication. Randy currently farms and the boys (Cody and Jared) are both attending SDSU pursuing agricultural degrees. We are dedicated to our midwest background and providing superior customer service because of it! We still believe in the power of hand written letters and we send a handwritten thank you with every order! We hope you enjoy the quality and service that Prairie Boutique has to offer!
